Athletes of the Week: Sept. 29-Oct. 5

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Sept. 29-Oct. 5 in cross country, field hockey, soccer and volleyball. 

Four repeat winners lead this week's honorees - Emmanuel Leblond of Johns Hopkins men's cross country, Caitlin Hoover of Franklin & Marshall field hockey, Sean Kennedy of Gettysburg men's soccer and Ava Prisco of Dickinson women's soccer.

MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Athlete of the Week
Emmanuel Leblond, Sr., Johns Hopkins 
Mountain View, Calif. | Mountain View
Competing in a highly competitive 40-team Gold Race at the Paul Short Invitational, Emmanuel Leblond led the Blue Jays to a 15th-place finish with 466 points, finishing behind several nationally ranked Division I programs, including No. 11 Syracuse, No. 28 Georgetown and No. 29 Harvard. The senior paced the entire Division III contingent, placing sixth overall in a field of 354 runners. He ran a personal-best 8k time of 23:23.3, anchoring a pack of four Blue Jays who finished among the top 150. Among the Division III teams, the Blue Jays finished ahead of third-ranked SUNY Geneseo and 10th-ranked RPI.

WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY

Athlete of the Week
Carter Brotherton, So., Johns Hopkins 
Leonardtown, Md. | Great Mills 
Brotherton placed 44th in a field of 352 runners in the Gold Race at the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh. The sophomore crossed in a personal-best 6k time of 20:46.6 to lead a pack of four Blue Jays who finished among the top-150. Hopkins placed 20th in the 40-team Gold Race, which featured primarily Division I programs including 15th-ranked Penn State and 20th-ranked Georgetown.

Offensive Player of the Week
Caitlin Hoover, Jr., F, Franklin & Marshall 

Blue Bell, Pa. | The Lawrenceville School (N.J.)
Caitlin continued her reign as the Centennial Conference goals and points leader, guiding the Diplomats to a pair of high-scoring shutout victories last week. She posted eight points on four goals between a 6-0 win against McDaniel on Tuesday and a 5-0 home win over SUNY Cortland on Saturday. She recorded her fourth-career hat trick against McDaniel before tallying one goal, the game-winner, in the victory over SUNY Cortland. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Aubrey Kilgore, Jr., GK, Johns Hopkins 
Schwenksville, Pa. | Perkiomen Valley 
Kilgore backstopped Johns Hopkins to a pair of shutouts over ranked opponents. She made three saves in three quarters of Hopkins' 3-0 win over undefeated and 14th-ranked Dickinson. The Red Devils entered the game averaging 2.8 goals per game. Kilgore then made two saves in three quarters of a 2-0 win at 23rd-ranked Ursinus on Saturday afternoon.

MEN'S SOCCER

Offensive Player of the Week
Ethan Jarden, Sr., F, Dickinson
West Chester, Pa. | Henderson 
Jarden tallied two goals and an assist in a 1-0-1 week for the eighth-ranked Red Devils, who remain unbeaten on the year. The senior did all of his damage in a 4-0 home win over Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. He opened the scoring in the fourth minute, assisted on Saul Iwowo's tally in the 14th minute, and scored for a second time in the 61st minute to give Dickinson a three-goal cushion. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Sean Kennedy, Sr., GK, Gettysburg
Cinnaminson, N.J. | Cinnaminson 
Kennedy led the Bullets to a 1-0-1 week in conference play, posting a pair of shutouts in goal. He made eight saves in a scoreless draw against Dickinson on Wednesday before making five stops in a 1-0 win at Johns Hopkins on Saturday.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Offensive Player of the Week

Ava Prisco, Jr., F, Dickinson
Warren, N.J. | Watchung Hills
Prisco scored three times in a 1-0-1 week for the Red Devils. She opened the week with a pair of goals in a 4-2 non-conference win against Susquehanna, helping the Red Devils to their first win over the River Hawks in four seasons. Prisco wrapped up the week with the equalizing goal off a counter attack in the 61st minute to help Dickinson secure a 1-1 road draw with the Diplomats. 

Defensive Player of the Week

Cincinnati, Ohio | Indian Hill 
Isphording anchored a Blue Jay defense that didn't allow a goal in victories against Mary Washington (2-0) and Bryn Mawr (5-0).  The Blue Jays held the Eagles to just five shots in the big non-conference victory, then held the Owls shotless to pick up the Centennial Conference victory.  This marked the first time JHU has held a team shotless since September 21, 2024, when the Blue Jays held Muhlenberg without a shot.

Offensive Player of the Week

Bethlehem, Pa. | Liberty
Flynn was a key cog in the Red Devils' 2-0 week that included a 3-1 non-conference win over DeSales and a 3-1 victory over Ursinus in their Centennial Conference opener. The sophomore setter totaled 48 assists across the two matches for an average of 6.0 assists per set. She also contributed four kills and four blocks. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Abby Silinski, Fr., L/DS, Franklin & Marshall 
Hillsborough, N.C. | Orange 
Silinski's passing was key to a 2-0 week for Franklin & Marshall, as the Diplomats swept Elizabethtown on Wednesday before defeating Haverford in four sets to open Centennial Conference play. Across the seven sets played, she averaged 4.86 digs/set (34 total) with one ace and seven assists. In Wednesday's win over Elizabethtown, she posted a career-best 19 digs (6.33 digs/set) with two digs and one ace, while she recorded 15 digs (3.75 digs/set) with five assists in the win against Haverford on Saturday.
