Athletes of the Week: Nov. 24-30

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Nov. 24-30 in men's and women's basketball. 

Franklin & Marshall's Kevin Nowoswiat earned weekly honors for the second time this year after leading the Diplomats to a 2-0 week, while Washington College's Kaitlyn Boggs recorded a rare 20-point, 20-rebound game en route to her first CC accolade of the season. 


MEN'S BASKETBALL

Nowoswiat averaged over 20 points per game in a two-win week for the Diplomats. In wins over Eastern and Hamilton, he averaged 21.0 points per game, shooting 58.1% from the field, 40.0% from three-point range, and 80.0% from the free throw line while also averaging 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. In Sunday's 74-53 victory over Hamilton, he posted a team-best 17 points, shooting 6-of-11 (54.6%) from the field, 1-of-1 on threes, and 4-of-4 on free throws with six rebounds, two steals, and one assist. In Tuesday's 85-73 win over Eastern, he recorded a season-high 25 points, shooting 12-of-20 (60.0%) with seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week
Kaitlyn Boggs, Sr., C, Washington College

Boggs hauled down a career-high 22 rebounds to go with a team-best 20 points in the Shorewomen's 59-54 win over visiting Stevenson on Tuesday night. Boggs is the first Shorewoman to tally 22 rebounds since Latisha Pledger ‘14 pulled down 22 against Salem on November 16, 2012. Boggs had eight rebounds offensively and 14 on the defensive glass. The senior scored 14 of her 20 points in the opening half. It was Boggs' first career 20-20 game.
