Athletes of the Week: Sept. 28-Oct. 4

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly honors have been distributed for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4, 2026. Conference play has now begun for all fall sports. 

Meghan Dole of Franklin & Marshall field hockey leads this week's honorees as a repeat weekly award recipient. 
FIELD HOCKEY

Offensive Player of the Week
Avery Bloom, Sr., M, Swarthmore 

West Hartford, Conn. | Ethel Walker School
Bloom recorded her first career two-goal game, scoring twice for the 24th-ranked Garnet in a 3-1 win over 12th-ranked Ursinus. Swarthmore trailed 1-0 before Bloom registered the tying goal in the 12th minute. She then netted the go-ahead goal in the 26th minute. Bloom totaled three shots in the contest, putting all three on cage. The senior then helped limit Gettysburg to seven shots in a 4-0 shutout victory on the road.

Defensive Player of the Week
Meghan Dole, Sr., GK, Franklin & Marshall 
Radnor, Pa. | Radnor 
Dole repeated as Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutouts with six saves in a 2-0 week for the ninth-ranked Diplomats. She made all six of her saves in F&M's 3-0 win over 15th-ranked Cortland on Saturday.

MEN'S SOCCER

Offensive Player of the Week
Connor Wilkes, So., F, Johns Hopkins 
Cincinnati, Ohio | Indian Hill 
Wilkes scored twice to lead Johns Hopkins to a 1-0-1 week. On Wednesday, he scored the game-winner over McDaniel, handing the Green Terror just their second loss of the season. Wilkes then scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw at Gettysburg Saturday afternoon.

Defensive Player of the Week
Nico Famularo, So., GK, Muhlenberg
Nazareth, Pa. | Nazareth 
Famularo made six saves without allowing a goal as the Mules went 1-0-1 in a pair of Centennial Conference contests. He tied his high of four saves in a 3-0 win at Swarthmore, making a pair of stops in the first five minutes and diving to his left to make a tough save of a free kick with Muhlenberg leading 1-0. Famularo saved another goal-bound free kick in the Mules' scoreless draw against Ursinus, leaping to parry the ball over the bar with his left hand. Famularo has recorded shutouts in three of his four CC starts.

Offensive Player of the Week

Hariette Ngwatung, Fr., F, McDaniel 
Beltsville, Md. | Eleanor Roosevelt
Ngwatung scored two goals, netting one in each game, as McDaniel went 1-0-1 last week. She scored in a 1-1 tie against 17th-ranked Swarthmore, which was the first goal allowed by the Garnet in four conference contests this season, and just the fourth Swarthmore has allowed in nine total games. Ngwatung also notched the game-winner in McDaniel's 3-0 triumph over Elizabethtown. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Allie Billups, Sr., GK, Haverford 
Clarksville, Md. | River Hill 
Billups anchored the Haverford defense during a perfect 2-0 week, recording back-to-back shutouts while stopping all 13 shots on goal she faced across 180 minutes. The senior matched her season high with eight saves in a 2-0 road victory over Widener on Tuesday before turning away all five shots on goal in a 1-0 Homecoming victory over Eastern on Saturday. Billups finished the week with 13 saves, a 1.000 save percentage and a 0.00 goals-against average while recording her fifth and sixth solo shutouts of the season. She has now posted consecutive clean sheets on three separate occasions this season and is tied for the Centennial Conference lead with six shutouts.

Offensive Player of the Week

Mallie Thomas, Jr., OH/RS, Dickinson 
Jackson, Miss. | Saint Andrew's Episcopal School 
Thomas averaged 4.20 kills and 2.10 digs per set while hitting .323% in a 3-0 week for the Red Devils that included wins over Alvernia, DeSales and Ursinus. Against Alvernia on Tuesday, she racked up nine kills, four digs, four aces and three assists. Two days later versus DeSales, she put up a week-high 18 kills and 12 digs along with four aces in 3-1 home win. She ended her week with 15 kills, five digs and two aces en route to a 3-0 conference win at Ursinus. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Chloe Wiedman, Jr., DS/L, Franklin & Marshall 
Westfield, N.J. | Westfield 
Wiedman led F&M's back row in a 2-0 week for the Diplomats, averaging 5.85 digs per set (41 total digs) with eight assists. In Wednesday's four-set win against Elizabethtown she recorded a career-high 25 digs with six assists, before tallying 16 digs and two assists in Saturday's straight-set sweep of Haverford to begin Centennial Conference play.
