Red Devils & Bullets Set for Title Rematch

Top two seeds defend home fields in CC semis

Dickinson and Gettysburg will face off for the Centennial Conference men's lacrosse crown for the third straight season following semifinal victories for the top two seeds on Thursday night. The Red Devils will host the Bullets on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Biddle Field with the conference title and the NCAA automatic qualifier on the line. 

In Carlise, Pa., Preston Boyd netted five goals, including a first quarter hat trick to help power eighth-ranked and top-seeded Dickinson to its fifth consecutive CC title game appearance with a 13-6 semifinal win over fifth-seeded Swarthmore. Ryan Backus won eight faceoffs and Rocco Bognet notched eight saves as the Red Devils used a balanced attack to down the Garnet. Drew Tyson made 13 stops in net for Swarthmore in the defeat. 

In Gettysburg, Pa., ninth-ranked and second-seeded Gettysburg raced out to a 10-1 lead late in the second quarter and rolled to an 18-6 win over third-seeded Washington College in the semifinals CC tournament. Charlie Johnson recorded five goals - all in the decisive first half – to lead the Bullets into their third straight championship game. Peyton Gestole led the Shoremen with a goal and two assists.
