LANCASTER, Pa. -- Basketball and wrestling honors were distributed this week as competition continues to wind down for winter sports in the fall 2024 semester.
Limited weekly awards will be given out over the next several weeks as the majority of teams take a break from competition after finals and during the holidays.

MEN'S BASKETBALL
Player of the Week
Giovanni Rubino, Sr., G, Muhlenberg
Pequannock, N.J. | Cheshire Academy (Conn.)
Rubino tallied 25 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Muhlenberg to a 78-62 win at Moravian. He was efficient shooting the ball, going 10-of-16 from the field, including 3-for-4 from three-point range, and made both of his free throws. Rubino played all 20 minutes of the second half, scoring 12 points and dishing out three assists without a turnover against a Greyhound team that was pressing fullcourt.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Athlete of the Week
Caroline Orza, Jr., G, Haverford

Orza was the driving force in a 2-0 week for the Fords. The junior guard averaged 20 points, 7.5 steals, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game while shooting 50% (16-for-32) from the field. In a 75-56 victory against Penn State Brandywine, Orza dropped 15 points to go along with eight steals and four rebounds. In a 83-54 win over Gallaudet on Saturday, Orza put up a game-high 25 points along with six steals, four assists and three rebounds. The Fords totaled their highest single-game team field goal percentage in school history (57.6%) against Gallaudet, with Orza scoring at a 59% (10-for-17) clip while shooting 44% from three-point range (4-for-9).

WRESTLING
Athlete of the Week
Alex DuFour, Sr., 125, McDaniel
Owings Mills, Md. | Owings Mills
DuFour picked up two wins to lead McDaniel to a split in a home tri-match against Marymount (Va.) and Messiah on Saturday. The Green Terror picked up their first dual match win of the season with a 39-15 decision over Marymount before falling to Messiah, 37-13. DuFour went 2-0 with a fall and major decision, improving his record to 7-2 this season, including 3-2 in dual matches. He pinned the Saints' Ian Morales in just 1:22 before posting a 14-4 major decision over the Falcons' Bryce Arnold. Both Morales (14-4) and Arnold (10-8) boast winning individual records on the season.
