LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Dec. 15-21 in basketball and wrestling.
Lizzie McGrath of Dickinson women's basketball, David Kearney of McDaniel men's basketball, and Mohamed Abdelatty of Ursinus wrestling received accolades.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Player of the Week
David Kearney, Sr., G, McDaniel
Havertown, Pa. | The Haverford School
Kearney scored 25 points on near-perfect 11-for-12 shooting to lead McDaniel to an 80-76 road win over Cairn on December 17. The Green Terror never trailed and fought off a late rally in the second half by scoring the final four points over the last 1:08. Kearney also contributed eight rebounds and two steals, and sealed the win with a pair of free throws with two seconds remaining.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

McGrath led the Red Devils to a dominant 66-49 non-conference road win over No. 22 Elizabethtown. She shot 5-of-11 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the charity stripe en route to a game-high 17 points. McGrath also recorded two assists and contributed on the defensive end with four steals, three defensive rebounds (four in total) and a block.

Athlete of the Week
Mohamed Abdelatty, Jr., 285, Ursinus

Abdelatty went a perfect 4-0 behind four bonus point victories and three falls to lift Ursinus to a 3-1 record at the Gator Boots Duals in Nashville, Tenn. He opened with a second period pin over Roman Martell of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to secure the Bears' 34-14 victory,. Next against No. 24 Luther and the Bears trailing 24-21, Abdelatty pinned Ethan Peper in 47 seconds to give Ursinus the win over a nationally-ranked opponent. After a major decision versus No. 18 Baldwin Wallace, Abdelatty closed out the tournament with a fall over Diego Morales at the 1:55-mark to give Ursinus a 37-11 victory over Lakeland.
