Athletes of the Week: March 10-16

LANCASTER, Pa. -- The majority of Centennial Conference schools were on spring break last week, resulting in a plethora of contests all across the country in baseball, softball, lacrosse and tennis. 

Paige Forry of Gettysburg softball headlines this week's award winners with her second Pitcher of the Week award of the young 2025 campaign, while nine others received weekly honors for the first time this year.

BASEBALL

Player of the Week
Harry Genth, Sr., INF, Haverford 
Baltimore, Md. | Boys' Latin School of Maryland 
Genth led the Fords to a 6-1 record last week during their spring break trip, going 12-27 (.444) at the plate with an on-base percentage of .583 and slugging percentage of 1.000. The senior knocked in 14 runs and scored 11 times, recording four doubles, three home runs, a triple and five stolen bases while drawing five walks. Genth homered in three straight contests last Monday and Tuesday, homering against Otterbein before knocking one out in each game of the doubleheader vs. Skidmore. He registered at least one hit in all seven games with five multi-hit games, and tallied at least one RBI and one run scored in all but one game, including five performances with multiple RBIs. 

Pitcher of the Week
Sam Bliss, Fr., RHP, Dickinson 
Doylestown, Pa. | Central Bucks East
Bliss pitched 6.0 innings of shutout ball against CalTech on Dickinson's spring break trip to California. The freshman allowed only two hits while striking out five and walking none through the 20 batters that he faced. He was credited with the win in the 4-0 victory for the Red Devils.

SOFTBALL

Player of the Week
Avery McClure, Jr., INF, Swarthmore 
Bolivar, Mo. | Bolivar 
McClure batted .500 (10-for-20) with five runs, two RBIs and two walks in six games last week. The junior slugged .650 with a .545 on-base percentage. McClure recorded a hit in all six games to lead the Garnet to a 4-2 record. 

Pitcher of the Week
Paige Forry, Sr., LHP, Gettysburg
Reading, Pa. | Schuylkill Valley
Forry earned Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time this season after going 6-0 in her six appearances in the circle last week with a 0.58 ERA. She went the distance in all five starts with two shutouts, striking out 39 in 36 innings while walking just three. She fanned 10 in a five-inning complete game against Alfred on Friday.

MEN'S LACROSSE

Offensive Player of the Week
Chase Kusko, So., M, Muhlenberg
Breinigsville, Pa. | Parkland 
Kusko tied a school record with six assists in the Mules' 19-4 win against previously undefeated North Central. He added a pair of goals for eight points, just one short of the school record. Only the second player in program history with back-to-back games of at least four assists, Kusko was involved in four straight first-quarter goals that turned a 1-1 tie into a 5-1 Muhlenberg lead, assisting on three in a row before scoring the fourth.

Defensive Player of the Week
Teddy Scarborough, So., GK, Franklin & Marshall 
Owings Mills, Md. | McDonogh School 
Scarborough posted a 70.4% save percentage with a 4.27 goals against average and 19 saves across a pair of Franklin & Marshall wins last week. In Monday's 13-4 win over Ohio Northern, he made six saves with a 75.0% save percentage over 52 minutes of service. In Saturday's 9-6 win at Elizabethtown, Scarborough played all 60 minutes, making 13 saves with a 68.4% save percentage.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE

Offensive Player of the Week
Julia Daly, Jr., A, Gettysburg
McLean, Va. | Langley 
Daly led the Bullets to a 2-0 week with a pair of wins over top-25 opponents. She recorded 14 points in the two games with eight goals and six assists. She also had a ground ball and two caused turnovers. At No. 22 Christopher Newport on Wednesday, she scored three goals to go with four assists before scoring five goals on five shots against No. 11 York on Saturday, adding two assists. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Annie Bravacos, Sr., GK, Haverford 
Hershey, Pa. | Hershey 
Bravacos went 3-0 between the posts for the Fords including with victories over No. 23 Messiah, No. 22 Christopher Newport and Shenandoah. The senior registered a 7.12 goals against average in just over 176 minutes of work, notching 27 saves for a 56.3% save percentage. Bravacos' free-position save in overtime against CNU helped the Fords collect their second-straight upset victory of the week. Bravacos also secured nine ground balls for the week.

MEN'S TENNIS

Player of the Week
Marko Arboleda, So., Haverford 
Chappaqua, N.Y. | Greeley
Arboleda went 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 3-1 at No. 2 doubles as the Fords posted a perfect 4-0 record over their spring break trip with wins over Hope International, UC Santa Cruz, Wabash and No. 20 Redlands. Arboleda's most impressive win came against Redlands with a 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 triumph at the top singles spot over Dominic Anderson, the 49th ranked singles player in the nation. The win over Anderson helped the Fords to a 4-3 win over the nationally-ranked Bulldogs.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Player of the Week
Sophia Rhazali, So., Franklin & Marshall 
Stamford, Conn. | Stamford 
Rhazali had a big week in Florida, leading F&M to three team wins, including a 4-3 upset victory over No. 27 Grinnell. Playing at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles and one match each at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles, Rhazali posted a perfect 3-0 mark in singles and doubles last week. All three of Rhazali's singles wins came in straight sets.
