Athletes of the Week: March 16-22

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of March 16-22 in baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis and outdoor track & field. This marks the first outdoor track & field awards of the 2026 season. 

Morgan Bobrowski of Muhlenberg softball and Piper Evans of Washington College women's lacrosse received weekly honors for the third time this year, while Chase Kusko of Muhlenberg men's lacrosse earned an award for the second week in a row.

BASEBALL

Player of the Week
Pete Kokinis, Jr., OF, Washington College 
Owings Mills, Md. | McConogh
Kokinis became just the seventh player in Centennial Conference history to hit for the cycle and hit .615 (8-for-13) with two home runs, 10 RBIs, seven runs scored, four doubles, one triple, three stolen bases, a .688 on-base percentage, 1.538 slugging percentage and an OPS of 2.226 in a 3-1 week for the Shoremen. In Thursday's 15-12 win over visiting Cairn, the junior hit for the cycle going 5-for-5 with five RBIs, three runs, two doubles, a triple and a home run in the win. Kokinis completed the cycle in his fourth trip to the plate on an RBI triple in the bottom of the sixth inning. On Saturday in a 14-4 game one win versus Lancaster Bible, the junior went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, three RBIs and a stolen base. In game two's 9-6 win later in the day, he went 1-for-2 with two walks, three runs scored, a home run, two RBIs and a pair of stolen bases. His homer in the second game, a two-run shot, was in the last of the eighth inning to give Washington a 9-5 lead.

Pitcher of the Week
Luke Wood, Fr., LHP, McDaniel 
Pennsville, N.J. | Pennsville 
Wood improved to 3-0 this season after scattering four hits over 6.2 scoreless innings with four strikeouts in a 2-1 road win at No. 4 Salisbury. Wood struck out four batters and held the Sea Gulls to a .174 batting average in the victory. The Green Terror recorded their first-ever win over a top-five team, which was also their first-ever win against the Sea Gulls.

SOFTBALL    

Player of the Week
Iris Barone, Sr., OF, Swarthmore 
Pittsburgh, Pa. | Mount Lebanon
Barone batted .462 with a 1.533 OPS in a 3-1 week for the Garnet. She went 6-for-13 with three doubles, two triples, four stolen bases, a walk, two RBIs, and six runs out of the lead-off spot. In a doubleheader versus No. 25 Eastern, she tallied two doubles, a walk, two stolen bases, one RBI, and two runs to help Swarthmore earn a split. The senior then was 4-for-6 with a double, two triples, two stolen bases, one RBI, and four runs in a sweep of Penn State Berks. Barone currently leads the conference in batting average, OPS, runs, hits, doubles, and triples.

Pitcher of the Week

Bobrowski claimed Pitcher of the Week honors for the third time this spring after not allowing an earned run in 12 innings in picking up a pair of wins in the circle. She improved to 6-0 on the season and lowered her ERA to 0.68. She is only the third Mule pitcher in the 2000s to start a season with six straight wins. Bobrowski pitched the first five innings against Kings, allowing four hits and an unearned run in a 9-1 Muhlenberg win. Against Stockton, which came in undefeated (10-0) and with a .394 team batting average, Bobrowski faced only five batters over the minimum in tossing her second career complete game. She gave up only three hits and an unearned run while striking out three in the Mules' 8-1 victory.

MEN'S LACROSSE 

Offensive Player of the Week
Chase Kusko, Jr., A, Muhlenberg
Breinigsville, Pa. | Parkland 
Kusko repeated as Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 14 points on three goals and 11 assists, passing three career milestones and leading the Mules to two wins. He dished out five assists in a 12-11 upset win at 19th-ranked Cortland, including four on consecutive Muhlenberg second-half goals. Kusko added nine points on three goals and six assists in a 16-10 home win against Kean - only the fourth time in program history that a Mule notched at least nine points in a game. During the game, he reached the career milestones of 50 goals, 100 assists and 150 points, moving into second place on the program's all-time scoring list.

Defensive Player of the Week
Keegan Dunn, Fr., GK, Washington College=
Marlton, N.J. | St. Joseph's Prep (Pa.) 
Dunn tallied a .609 save percentage, 8.19 goals against average and 28 saves in 131:48 of action in a 2-0 week for the Shoremen. In Saturday's 10-9 triple overtime win over 11th-ranked Dickinson, the freshman netminder turned away 14 shots, including nine in the second half and three in the final 2:32 of the fourth quarter to keep the game tied at 9-9. It was the Shoremen's first win over the Red Devils since 2014 and first home win versus Dickinson since 2005. In Wednesday's 10-9 overtime victory against Stockton, Dunn stopped 14 shots, making eight of his 14 saves after halftime. The freshman also picked up a pair of ground balls in the contest.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE 

Offensive Player of the Week
Piper Evans, Sr., A, Washington College
Chestertown, Md. | Queen Anne's County 
Evans repeated as Offensive Player of the Week and earned the accolade for the third time this season after tallying 10 goals and netted 11 points in a 2-0 week for the Shorewomen. On Tuesday in a 15-13 win over visiting St. Mary's (Md.), the senior led all players with six goals and seven points and tied for tops in the contest with four ground balls. Evans figured in the team's first two goals in an 18-second span of the first quarter, scoring the first and assisting on the second. The senior would put WC ahead for good at 5-4 with a second quarter score and netted what proved to be the game-winning tally with 8:49 to go in the fourth quarter that gave the squad a 14-10 lead. She scored in all four quarters in the game. In Saturday's 13-9 victory against Dickinson to commence Centennial play, Evans tied for game-best with four goals, scoring one goal in each quarter. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Lauren Anderson, Sr., D, Haverford 
Bala Cynwyd, Pa. | William Penn Charter School 
Anderson anchored Haverford’s defense in a 2–0 week, combining for 6 ground balls and 5 caused turnovers in victories over No. 16 Messiah and Ursinus. In the 12–7 road win at No. 16 Messiah, Anderson contributed a caused turnover and a ground ball, helping the Fords limit a potent Falcons attack and maintain control throughout the contest. She followed that effort by recording six ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 17-7 triumph over Ursinus in the CC opener. Anderson was instrumental in disrupting Ursinus’ offensive rhythm, consistently creating extra possessions and sparking transition opportunities for the Scarlet and Black.

MEN'S TENNIS

Player of the Week
Samuel Donnelly, Jr., Franklin & Marshall 
Darien, Conn. | Darien 
Donnelly went 4-0 in singles and 3-1 in doubles to lead the Diplomats to a 4-1 record on their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. In singles, he posted a trio of singles wins at the No. 3 position and one win at the No. 2. In doubles, he teamed with Nate Arnold for a 3-1 mark at the No. 2 spot. The Diplomats swept past Hobart, Colby-Sawyer, George Fox and St. John's and fell to Vassar 4-3. Donnelly leads the Diplomats with nine singles wins so far this year.

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Player of the Week
Paola Almeda, Fr., Swarthmore 
Chicago, Ill. | The Lab School 
Almeda went 4-0 over a pair of victories for the 21st-ranked Garnet. The rookie teamed with Kathleen Shiffer for a 6-0 win at first doubles at Muhlenberg. She continued to not drop a game in her match at fourth singles, winning 6-0, 6-0. Almeda then came away with two victories to help Swarthmore knock off unbeaten No. 11 Carnegie Mellon. She paired with Shiffer again for a 7-5 triumph at third doubles. Almeda then kickstarted the Garnet's comeback with a 7-5, 6-2 win at sixth singles as Swarthmore rallied from 3-0 down to win the match.

Track Athlete of the Week

Ringwood, N.J. | Passaic County Tech 
Relovsky placed sixth in the 800 meters at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, crossing the line in 1:55.18. Relovsky's time ranks 10th in the nation through the opening two weekends of the outdoor season. 

Field Athlete of the Week
Oliver Stroka, So., Dickinson
Goshen, N.Y. | Don Bosco Prep 
Stroka started the outdoor campaign in impressive fashion with the 17th-best hammer throw in Division III at the Shippensburg Keystone Challenge. Stroka placed second in the event with a mark of 50.96 meters.

Page registered a strong showing in the 800 meters at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, racing to the 18th-fastest time on the Division III national list. Page finished third in the race with a time of 2:18.13. 

Field Athlete of the Week
Tate Garcia, Sr., Swarthmore 
Honolulu, Hawaii | Iolani
Garcia secured a pair of top-20 national marks in Swarthmore's season-opening event at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The senior took second in the shot put with a mark of 12.93 meters, which ranks seventh on the national list. She also took ninth in the discus at 39.33 meters, which currently ranks 18th in Division III.
