Offensive Player of the Week

Simrin Carlsen, Jr., OH, Johns Hopkins
Edison, N.J. | J.P. Stevens
Carlsen put together one of the most efficient weekends in program history during a 3-0 week for Johns Hopkins. Following the Blue Jays' sweep of Washington College in which the junior tallied seven kills, six digs and two aces, Carlsen erupted over the weekend. In Hopkins' second 3-0 win of the week, the Edison, NJ native set a new program record for hitting percentage in a match in which a player attempts between 15-19 attacks, totaling 16 kills on just 18 attacks with no errors for an absurd .889 hitting percentage. A nine-kill, 10-dig effort in the Jays' final sweep of Averett gave the junior weekly averages of four kills, three digs and 4.75 points per set on a .558 hitting percentage. With the regular season nearing its end, Carlsen leads the conference in points and kills per set and now ranks sixth in hitting percentage.

Defensive Player of the Week

Yu was effective on both ends in a 3-0 week for Johns Hopkins averaging 2.83 kills on a .680 hitting percentage while averaging a team-high 1.17 blocks per set. The sophomore kicked off her week tallying five kills with one block across two sets in a sweep over Washington College, adding three kills in just one set against Bryn Mawr before totaling nine kills on 15 attempts with no errors to pair with a season-high six blocks in the team's 3-0 win over Averett. Yu now ranks third in the Centennial Conference in hitting percentage (.318) and is tied for seventh in blocks per set (.75) on the year.
