VOLLEYBALL

Offensive Player of the Week

Pamela Chiakpo, Sr., RS/MB, Johns Hopkins
Lexington, Mass. | Lexington
Chiakpo was unstoppable on the attacking side in a 3-0 week for Johns Hopkins. The senior averaged 3.60 kills per set on a ridiculous .403 hitting percentage to pair with 4.20 points per set, with the best game of her career coming in a match against F&M with serious playoff implications. In the contest against the Diplomats, Chiakpo finished with a career-best and game-high 18 kills on a .484 hitting percentage to carry the team to the win and top seed in the Centennial Conference Tournament. The senior finished her week with another eight kills, two digs and a season-high seven blocks in a 3-1 win over Shenandoah.

Defensive Player of the Week
Alice Yu, So., MB, Johns Hopkins
San Diego, Calif. | Torrey Pines
Yu had a career-best week in a 3-0 stretch for the Blue Jays. The sophomore opened her week with a four-kill, four-block effort against Dickinson before having the best defensive game of her career in a 3-1 win over Franklin & Marshall. In a game that would decide the Centennial Conference Tournament seeding, Yu registered a career-best 10 blocks — the most in a single match in the conference this year and the second most in a four-set match in program history — to pair with another two kills. The California native ended her week adding two kills to pair with three more blocks in a 3-1 win over Shenandoah to bring her weekly average to 1.7 denials per set.
