Athletes of the Week: Jan. 19-25

LANCASTER, Pa. -- Centennial Conference weekly awards have been announced for the week of Jan. 19-25 in basketball, swimming, indoor track & field and wrestling. 

Erika Ezumba of Johns Hopkins women's indoor track & field leads this week's honorees after shattering her own conference and school records in the weight throw for the second straight week. Evan Graham of Gettysburg men's swimming secured weekly accolades for the conference-leading fourth time this winter, while Charlie Jackson of Johns Hopkins men's basketball collected weekly honors for third time, also a conference best in men's swimming.

MEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week
Charlie Jackson, Sr., G, Johns Hopkins 
Arlington, Va. | Episcopal 
Jackson averaged 24.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in leading Johns Hopkins to a pair of 25+ point wins last week. He went 20-of-24 (.833) from the field and 7-of-7 (1.000) from the line in the two wins. Jackson scored a game-high 18 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and three steals in just 21 minutes at McDaniel. He followed that with a career-high 31 points and grabbed nine boards in 25 minutes versus Muhlenberg.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Player of the Week
Jocelyn Goldstein, Fr., C, Johns Hopkins

Goldstein helped power the Blue Jays to a 2-0 week with wins over McDaniel and Muhlenberg, as the team improved to 16-0 overall and 7-0 in conference play, remaining one of just six unbeaten teams in Division III. The freshman averaged 13.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting an efficient 68.4% from the floor (13-of-19) in just 23.7 minutes per contest. Against McDaniel, Goldstein led all scorers with 20 points on 10-of-15 (.667) shooting, while pulling down nine rebounds—six on the offensive end—to go along with three blocks and a steal in a 72-56 victory. She followed that performance with seven points on 3-of-4 (.750) shooting, five rebounds and an assist in just 17 minutes of action during a 36-point win over Muhlenberg.

MEN'S SWIMMING

Athlete of the Week
Evan Graham, So., Gettysburg 
Crofton, Md. | The Key School 
Graham led the Bullets in a 172-90 win over Rowan on Saturday. He won four times on the day, including leading off the opening 400 medley relay victory. Individually, he won the 100 backstroke (51.31 seconds), 200 breaststroke (2:11.62) and 200 IM (1:55.12).

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

Raleigh, N.C. | Sanderson 
Berry led the Bullets in a 178-84 win over Rowan on Saturday. She won both distance races, including setting a program record in the 1000 free with the fastest time in the conference this season at 10:21.33. That 1000 time ranks fifth all-time in conference history and 10th in Division III this season. She also won the 500 free with a time of 5:14.99.

Track Athlete of the Week
Caleb Tenney, Fr., Johns Hopkins 
Laurel, Md. | St. Vincent Pallotti
Tenney led the Blue Jays at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, competing against a field that included numerous Division I programs. The freshman recorded a time of 8:08.04 in the 3,000 meters, placing fifth overall. His performance ranks as the second-fastest time in Johns Hopkins history, the fourth-fastest time in Centennial history, the fifth-fastest mark in the nation this season and the 24th-fastest time in Division III history.

Field Athlete of the Week
Sean McNeil, So., Muhlenberg 
Branchburg, N.J. | Somerville 
McNeil won the high jump and placed second in the triple jump at Franklin & Marshall's Coach I Invitational. In a field of 26 competitors in the high jump, McNeil came in after all but five others were out and cleared his first two attempts, the second at 1.88 meters, to take first place. In the triple jump, McNeil hit the sand at a regional-qualifying 14.39 meters, breaking the school record he set last year and moving from ninth to eighth on the Centennial Conference all-time performance list. That mark also ranks 18th in Division III this season. On the CC performance list for the 2025-26 season, McNeil is first in the high jump and tied for second in the triple.

WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

Track Athlete of the Week
Adriana Catalano, Sr., Johns Hopkins 
Pleasantville, N.Y. | Pleasantville 
Catalano recorded one of the fastest mile performances in Division III history at the Dr. Sander Scorcher. The senior clocked a personal-best 4:49.58 in the mile, earning a 13th-place finish in a field loaded with top-notch Division I talent. Her time ranks as the second-fastest mile in program history, the third-best in Centennial history, sits second in Division III this season and stands as the 20th-fastest performance ever recorded at the Division III level.

Field Athlete of the Week

Owings Mills, Md. | Notre Dame Preparatory 
Ezumba repeated as Field Athlete of the Week after rewriting the record books for the second consecutive week, this time at the Dr. Sander Scorcher against a field loaded with premier Division I talent. The senior once again starred in the weight throw, surpassing her previous mark from the Cardinal Track & Field Classic. Ezumba recorded a personal-best throw of 19.17 meters to secure the Blue Jays’ lone event victory on Day One. The mark shattered both her program and Centennial Conference records, ranks second in Division III this season and stands as the 19th-best throw in Division III history. She concluded her meet in the shot put with a top-15 performance, as Ezumba placed 12th with a throw of 12.26 meters.

WRESTLING 

Athlete of the Week
Andre Allen, Sr., 157, McDaniel 
Upper Marlboro, Md. | Archbishop Spalding
Allen won the 157-pound bracket at the Ken Ober Invitational hosted by Elizabethtown on Saturday. The Green Terror finished second out of nine teams with 151 points, just eight points behind the host and 13th-ranked Blue Jays. It marked Allen's first career tournament title and fifth top-five finish. He went 4-0 with four bonus-point wins, including a 16-5 major decision over Stevens' Michael O'Connor in the final. Allen also recorded the fastest fall of his career with a win in just 22 seconds over Pierre-Jovan Fuentes of York (Pa.) in the second round.
